At Electronic Imaging in 2003 in San Jose, I presented the following paper titled :
Unconstrained Web-Based Color Naming Experiment
The experiment had an optional comments box.
I read all of the comments as the data was submitted by participants.
One of these comments was :
"Wasn't sure if you wanted accurate or poetic names." Anonymous
Such a succinct observation about color naming.
Three years later, the term crowdsourcing was coined.
